Setting a new benchmark for high-performance & wellbeing-focused educational environments

The Senior School Teaching and Learning Building (TL01) has achieved Gold WELL Certification and 6-Star Green Star Design and As Built rating. This building is the First Education building in Oceania to achieve Gold WELL certification and this is Australia's first 6-Star Green Star, WELL Gold certified school building.

erbas™ | erbas™ SUSTAIN was proud to deliver the Green Star AP and WELL AP services, plus building services design works from masterplan to completion.

The project is designed with future-focus integrating strategies for energy and water, high indoor environmental quality with sensors installed for monitoring, selection of sustainable materials throughout and well-lit & ventilated breakout spaces for staff and students. The strong focus on students and staff health and well-being reflects through the designed central atrium staircase, installed live plants, designed several collaborative spaces and creating comfortable spaces to thrive.

As quoted by IWBI President and CEO, Rachel Hodgdon “As the first school in Oceania to achieve WELL Certification at the Gold level, Caulfield Grammar School is setting a new benchmark for how learning environments can be intentionally designed to advance student well-being. By prioritizing healthy indoor air, optimized lighting and acoustics, access to nutritious food and strong mental health support, the school demonstrates how sustainable buildings serve as essential infrastructure for health, driving deeper engagement and stronger performance outcomes for students and educators alike.”

Congratulations to the entire project team and to Caulfield Grammar School for their ongoing commitment to sustainability and student wellbeing. This achievement reflects the strong collaboration and dedication demonstrated throughout the project.
