Climate Active

We are proud to have met the requirements of the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for Organisations and been certified as a carbon neutral Australian business. Climate Active is Australia’s collective initiative for climate action and a network of like-minded businesses doing their part for the environment.

Our journey towards achieving carbon neutral status led by erbas™ SUSTAIN National Sustainability Manager, Dr. Jane Lai, was met with the full support from the board and executive team from the start.

Initially, we had to collate large amounts of data to accurately measure our footprint. This process required the active participation of our team members. Once we had the data, we began our research into carbon credıt projects aligned with our core values and story.

Homage to Ken, Ilkay, and Emre’s roots in Türkiye, we have engaged with the Akbük Wind Farm Project, development of 31.5 MW of onshore wind farm in the region of Aydin Province, Didim District. The purpose of the project activity is to generate renewable electrical energy utilising wind as the primary energy source and deliver this energy to the national grid of Turkey while displacing the same amount of electricity that would otherwise be generated by the fossil fuel plants dominating the national grid. This project will also benefit local communities by providing high quality jobs requiring professional skills and training. We chose to support Australian indigenous projects, Paroo River North Environmental Project and the Merepah Fire Project, Cape York.

Paroo River North Environmental Project establishes permanent native forests through assisted regeneration from in-situ seed sources (including rootstock and lignotubers) on land that was cleared of vegetation and where regrowth was suppressed for at least 10 years prior to the project having commenced. The Merepah Fire Project involves strategic fire management, including aerial and ground burning, as well as fire suppression to reduce late dry-season wildfires, in turn decreasing carbon emissions.

Through erbas™ SUSTAIN we offer sustainability and wellbeing solutions to our clients. It is important to us that we practice what we preach, so we are committed to being carbon neutral. Our approach also enabled us to support renewable projects and indigenous community projects.

We are looking forward to working with clients and partners who are like-minded and who place value in reducing their carbon footprint in their operations.
