We’re excited to be participating in a research study led by PhD candidate Maryam Anaraki (RMIT University), supervised by Prof. Priyadarsini Rajagopalan and Assoc. Prof. Mary Myla Andamon, exploring the relationship between light exposure in office environments and employee alertness throughout the working day.
Over the past weeks, members of our team took part in a field study within our workplace, contributing real-world insights into how lighting conditions impact focus, wellbeing, and performance. This includes wearing light sensors during working hours and sharing feedback on alertness and sleep quality.
As building services engineers, we understand the critical role environmental design plays in shaping how people experience spaces. Studies like this are invaluable in helping inform smarter, more human-centred workplaces where lighting is not just functional, but actively supports health, comfort, and productivity.
A big thank you to Maryam and the RMIT team for the opportunity to contribute to this important research. We look forward to seeing how these insights shape the future of workplace design.
