SUSTAIN Weeks wrap-up

SUSTAIN Weeks wrap-up

In September we were on the road for SUSTAIN Weeks. Our entire sustainability team travelled to Sydney with the ongoing commitment to be the number one integrated sustainability and engineering consultancy.

Our external focus was to meet and discuss new mandatory carbon reporting from 2025, ESG, rating tools, decarbonisation and net zero design. We really enjoyed these sessions with Hassell, Cox, Studio SC, 3XN, Architectus, BLP, RPS, Richard Crookes, Abacus, Buchan Group, and MODE Design.

Internally, workshops were conducted with the mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, and fire engineering teams to discuss design challenges, innovative sustainable practices, case studies, design decision impacts on energy modelling outcomes, life cycle assessments and material selection, while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among the engineers. The internal teams walked away having a greater understanding of the importance of sustainability and a desire to further understand the field through additional training and cross-team collaboration.

A big thanks to the SUSTAIN team for organising and putting in the time and effort in preparing the content for the internal and external activities, while still providing quality service in project delivery. The SUSTAIN Weeks created stronger linkages between interdisciplinary teams and a heightened understanding of the way building services and sustainability come together in projects.

As always, we welcome to the opportunity to collaborate with you and grow our collective knowledge in this important field.
