The name "Kardinia", derived from the Wadawurrung language, means “sunrise” or “new beginning” which is a reflection of the school's philosophy to inspire students to shape a better world.

The school has a new School of Visual Arts, transforming the former junior school building into a hub for creativity.

The facility features dedicated gallery spaces, specialist art studios, generous storage areas and a fully equipped kiln and pottery zone. These purpose-built spaces will nurture students’ artistic expression while supporting hands-on learning.

This project reflects Kardinia’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation.
