Mechanical Electrical Hydraulic Fire Sustainability

Designed as a hub for innovation, collaboration and hands-on learning, the facility will provide more than 14,000 students from 14 local secondary schools with access to immersive STEM education, supporting future careers in areas including AI engineering, podcasting, F1 physics and game development.

erbas™ | erbas™ SUSTAIN provided mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection and environmentally sustainable design (ESD) services from concept design through to construction completion. Working closely with the project team, we developed an integrated building services solution supporting a high-performing learning environment targeting a 5 Star Green Star Buildings v1 certification.

Building Services Deliverables

  • Mechanical: Energy-efficient HVAC systems incorporating heat recovery ventilation, CO₂-controlled outside air and Building Management System (BMS) integration.
  • Electrical: Power, lighting, communications, security, CCTV, audio visual infrastructure and energy monitoring systems supporting Green Star and NCC requirements. - Hydraulic: Domestic water, sanitary drainage, stormwater and rainwater harvesting systems with water metering to support sustainable building performance.
  • Fire Protection: Fire hydrant, hose reel and portable fire protection systems designed in accordance with NCC 2022 and relevant Australian Standards.
  • ESD: Green Star strategy, building performance modelling and sustainability advice supporting the project's 5 Star Green Star Buildings v1 target.

The completed facility provides a flexible, technology-enabled learning environment that supports innovation, collaboration and the development of future STEM skills.
