It was a challenging project due to the heritage elements of what was originally a boarding house. A new five-storey annex will be constructed while the existing façade of the building will be restored. 

The building sits at the gateway to the commercial and creative heart of Surry Hills. The development’s heritage impact statement describes it as a “superb example of contemporary infill” and “when complete, would be an important part of the contemporary architectural legacy of the City of Sydney”.
