Panania Library and Knowledge Centre

Delivered in collaboration with Lahznimmo Architects, the project comprises a new 1,000sqm library and community facility alongside approximately 1,700sqm of landscaped public domain space designed to support everyday use, passive recreation, and community events.

The development includes a modern library, hireable community spaces, open green areas, public lighting, new street furniture, and supporting infrastructure for local markets and community use.

erbas™ is providing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sustainability engineering services for the project, delivering a coordinated building services solution tailored to the operational and community-focused requirements of the facility.

The design incorporates energy-efficient lighting, mechanical ventilation and air conditioning systems, hydraulic and fire services infrastructure, communications and security systems, and supporting utility coordination across both the building and surrounding public domain. Sustainability initiatives and Section J performance modelling form part of the project approach, supporting energy efficiency and long-term operational performance.

Careful coordination between architecture and engineering is central to the project, ensuring the internal and external environments operate cohesively while supporting accessibility, comfort, safety, flexibility, and long-term maintainability.

The project demonstrates an integrated approach to civic and community infrastructure, creating a functional and adaptable public facility that supports both everyday use and broader community activation.
