Kingscliff Fire Station

Kingscliff, a town in northern NSW, has gained a future-focused fire station on the same site that held the original fire station, built in 1968.

Client

Fire and Rescue NSW

Architect

Brewster Hjorth Architects

Value

$4.7 million

The building is flexible so, as the region grows, so can the station. Situated on Kingscliff's beachfront, which is reflected in the building's aesthetics, it is designed to withstand the harsh weather and salty environment.

The fire station features a dual-vehicle engine bay and storage, training and living areas for the 18 on-call firefighters who service Kingscliff and the surrounding areas. The dedicated 'clean firefighter' zones ensure that the firefighters don't take carcinogenic contaminates to their families and community.
