In response to growing community needs and evolving operational requirements, a new purpose-built facility has been delivered to support Fire and Rescue NSW.

The new $7 million state-of-the-art station replaces the aging Edward Street facility and features:

  • A four-truck engine bay
  • Modern, separate male and female amenities
  • A dedicated decontamination zone
  • Clean and dirty zones for improved hygiene and safety
  • A training room and expanded facilities to support firefighter well-being and recovery

Designed in close consultation with active-duty firefighters, the new station will accommodate up to 27 personnel and enhance emergency response across Cessnock, Aberdare, Bellbird, Kitchener, Neath, and Pokolbin.

This project forms part of a broader initiative to future-proof Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) stations across the state to ensure first responders have the spaces, tools, and support systems they need to keep communities safe, now and into the future.
