The upgrade modernised the ground floor library and meeting rooms, as well as the first-floor town hall and amenities, to contemporary design standards.
Works included restoration of the heritage façade and tower stairs, renewal of kitchenette and bathroom amenities, improved connectivity between the library and meeting room, and new library front desk, bookshelves, joinery and furniture. Additional upgrades included automated entry doors, painting throughout the auditorium, a new roof, and upgraded electrical and lighting services. The heritage nature of the building presented challenges, with services carefully integrated within an architectural scheme by NBRS.
We are proud to have been involved in providing building services design and construction assistance for this historical building dating back to 1888.
