Unlocking Sustainable Finance

Unlocking Sustainable Finance

Our team of highly proficient sustainability consultants and building physics modellers are at the forefront of unlocking sustainable finance opportunities for our clients.

We recently provided the services of NABERS Advisory to assist SEMZ Property Advisory & Project Management obtain sustainable finance from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia for Collective Capital. The project is a building retrofit on Collective Capital’s recently acquired 11-storey commercial building at 342-348 Flinders Street, Melbourne. The sustainable finance was approved based on the NABERS Sustainable Finance Criteria which was launched in June 2022.

The retrofit design aims to include a high efficiency 3-pipe VRV air conditioning system, a redesigned outdoor air system, lighting and control system upgrades and hot water unit upgrades to a heat pump system. The project aims to reduce the post retrofit carbon emissions of the development by 30%.

Sustainable finance opportunities such as this are great to encourage existing building owners to reduce their asset’s on-going carbon emissions, which not only aligns with the wider ESG goals of real estate conglomerates, but also increases the value of existing assets.

If you would like to know more about how such opportunities can be applied on your projects, whether new builds or existing assets, please get in touch with Jane Lai, Lincoln Merlo or Rohan Tariq who shall be able to guide you on the next steps.
