Last week Thursday, erbas™ | erbas™ SUSTAIN presented to the team at DesignInc Melbourne. The session explored the value of Green Star and WELL Building Standard certification, particularly within the education sector where well designed environments can have a meaningful impact on teaching and learning.

We took a deep dive into Caulfield Grammar School TL01, reflecting on the shared experience between erbas™ | erbas™ SUSTAIN and DesignInc Melbourne, who were part of the design team. The discussion followed the project journey from early stakeholder workshops with students, teachers and staff, through the design phase with detailed coordination, performance modelling and embodied carbon considerations, and into construction where strong collaboration with the contractor was key to successful delivery.

Key strategies embedded in the building included environmental sensors, photovoltaic systems, daylight access, considered material selection, and the central atrium supporting both Green Star and WELL outcomes.
